THE MOST RECENT ADDITION TO Turbosound's ceiling speaker range is the TCS-C35T - a 3.5" passive two-way with multiple transformer taps for use on both 70 volt line and 100 volt line distributed systems. Delivering 106dB peak SPL, with a wide coverage pattern of 150°h x 150°v, the TCS-35T is ideal for many installed applications requiring professional quality background audio and voice reinforcement.
The TCS-C35T partners the larger 5" two-way TCS-C50T ceiling speaker, and is designed to be used in most types of suspended ceiling system - the European 600mm grid and the North American 2ft grid being the most popular. To simplify installation the loudspeaker is supplied with a universal 'C' plate and tile rail kit to fit both types of ceiling grid.
Its shallow mounting depth of less than 4" allows it to be installed where the available space above the suspended ceiling grid is fairly limited, and the provision of a Phoenix-type removable multi-way connector means that the loudspeaker wiring can be pre-installed prior to the loudspeakers being available on site, while also giving the option to implement either parallel or loop-in connection strategies.
Once installed, the level of each loudspeaker's level can be individually adjusted by means of the rotary voltage tap selector located on the front baffle behind the removeable grille. Three settings are provided when connected to a 100 volt line system - at 30 watts, 15 watts, and 7.5 watts - while four level settings are available at 30 watts, 15 watts, 7.5 watts, and 3.75 watts when using 70 volt line systems. A low impedance setting is also provided.
Injection moulded from fire-retardent ABS plastic, the mounting frame can be over-painted in-situ with the aid of the supplied paint mask for decor matching, while the steel back can forms an integral part of the sealed enclosure, optimising low frequency coverage, and provides a safety attachment point.
The TCS-C35T is the ideal high quality, smaller ceiling speaker to integrate on installation projects with the larger TCS-C50T, and with TSB-110 bandpass subwoofers.
